Nike donates more than just their time to My Friend’s Place

When the Nike North America EKIN team came to Los Angeles for meetings, they made it a point to find time to give back. More than 30 Nike employees spent their afternoons at My Friend’s Place drop-in center for homeless youth in Hollywood on December 9, working hard to get the space in tip-top shape for the holiday season.

Volunteers planted in the gardens, cleaned the playroom, organized the closet / warehouse, and painted walls, among other beautification tasks. But their spirit of giving didn’t stop there – a number of Nike team members donated the shoes off their feet to the vulnerable youth served at My Friend’s Place.

KVBFF has supported My Friend’s Place since 2011, funding the renovation of the space: http://kvbff.org/2012/09/kobe-bryant-foundation-celebrates-philanthropic-project-and-awards-new-grant-for-homeless-youth-housing-in-los-angeles/
